86% of America agrees – Members of Congress Shouldn’t Trade Stocks. They Do it Anyway.

Many of our elected politicians are reportedly making millions of dollars by trading stocks, sometimes under the names of their spouses or children. Democrats and Republicans (not all) are participating in the stock market, and every transaction by a politician can be found online, where rankings of who trades what change daily. The granular details of each politician available on CapitolTrades.com and other politician-focused stock trading sites make it impossible to hide in plain sight.
Click here to see the data directly on CapitolTrades.com. Below is a snapshot of the highest to lowest traded volume for these politicians over the last 180 days.

Why Aren’t the Current Rules Enforced?
The STOCK Act, passed in 2012, was meant to ensure transparency in lawmakers’ financial dealings by requiring members of Congress to report their trades within 45 days. Yet, recent filings show that some lawmakers continue to miss deadlines by months or even years. Perhaps there would be a stronger reason not to participate in stock trading if the punishment were more severe than $200, as it is today.
Senator Rick Scott Wants to Know if Anyone Wants to Be Poor
Senator Rick Scott, who recently submitted filings covering trades worth approximately $26 million, did so more than a year after the transactions took place.
Here is a part of the transcript and the clip itself.
“In this job, you know I don’t trade stocks. Somehow it’s suspect because I made money. I don’t know how many people in the audience, how many of you don’t want to make money? Anybody want to be poor? I don’t. Right. So, this idea that we’re going to attack people because they make money is wrong. but what I was just accused of is making money and somehow I can’t do I can’t be fair and do things the right way.”
– Rick Scott, Republican Senator from Florida
Here He is Fighting to Keep Trading:

For reference, representatives earn $174,000 as their base salary.
Other Analysis Exposes More Representatives with Questionable Trades
Quiver Quantitative brought Representative Tim Moore’s recent activity to light:

Which Entities are Being Bought the Most?
The top companies with the highest number of trades in the past 180 days:

Considering who participates and defends the right to make money while serving as a representative is taking time and resources away from what they were elected to do: representing their constituents. Are they really representing the people, or are they making millions from their roles and don’t want to lose that stream of income? The part that might be the most frustrating is that this is only now coming to the forefront for many citizens, because I believe many of these politicians rely on the fact that most people wouldn’t think or care to examine the transactions they are making.
Bipartisan Efforts Stall Every Time
Some lawmakers are trying to represent their constituents as they were elected to do by supporting the efforts to enforce transparency and ethical standards when it comes to making laws that could benefit their stock purchases. Since the STOCK Act, several bills have been introduced and debated, but none have reached the finish line. Here are some of those legislations:
H.R.3388 – Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments (PELOSI) Act (Introduced in House (05/14/2025)
H.R.1679 – Bipartisan Ban on Congressional Stock Ownership Act of 2023 (Introduced in House 03/21/2023)
S.2877 – A bill to ban stock trading for certain senior Government officials, and for other purposes. (Introduced 09/18/2025)
H. RES. 873 – Amending the Rules of the House of Representatives to prohibit Members of Congress from owning individual stocks. (Introduced in House 01/18/2022)
H.R.1908 – End Congressional Stock Trading Act (Introduced in House (08/29/2025)
H.Res.156 – No STOCK Resolution (Introduced in House (02/24/2023)
H.R.1679 – Bipartisan Ban on Congressional Stock Ownership Act of 2023 (Introduced in House (03/21/2023)
Will Our Representatives Listen to Us?
Clearly, there is support on both sides of the aisle. 86% of the public also agrees that these politicians should not be able to trade stocks. However, some of the members who have made millions from these stock trades are strongly opposed to banning them. If our representatives are supposed to represent their constituents, ideally, this should be a no-brainer. I have a feeling that it won’t go that way.

Mom, why did you get divorced?

Bella and her Mom make a return to the podcast after the very first episode! With divorce now a weight on two generations, Bella’s mom talks about some of the sacrifices, challenges, regrets, and the decisions that had to be made, which at the time were hard but ultimately proved exactly what was needed.

4: Polite and Respectful Rejections Sound Like This Guy

Bella is literally in the middle of a text conversation to “break up” with a Tinder guy whom she has never met in person, and writes her final text to close the chapter. What followed was a phone call, text, three voice notes, and then a final text. Still, all respectful and appreciated, but it does show sometimes how difficult it may be for some to take no for an answer.

YouTuber and Candy Man Ryan Trahan Raises Over $11 Million with his “50 States in 50 Days” Fundraiser Road Trip

Ask Gen Alpha or Gen-Z about YouTuber Ryan Trahan, and they probably know who he is. With over 21 million subscribers on YouTube, this family-friendly creator is taking a cross-country road trip with his wife, Haley Pham. These two young 20-somethings have charmed their audiences with their newlywed cuteness, keeping it G-rated, and even showcasing healthy lifestyle choices – all in the name of fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Totals as of episode 43 (Wyoming) This level of cuteness and kindness will give a wholesome new definition of “Influencers.”

youtube.com/@ryan Ryan and Haley’s excitement for the simple things, combined with the very relatable moments of doing grown-up tasks but still needing to call your parents to ask for help, adds that lovable quality of a couple that will make you want to root for.

Ryan calls his dad to ask about cooking hamburgers on the grill The family-friendly journey is on YouTube now. I recommend Ryan’s channel (and especially this series) for anyone older than Baby Shark, but it might be a little too young for Kai Cenat or Mr. Beast. The initial goal of the adventure was to raise $1 million for St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Some of the episodes up on YouTube Trahan the Candy Man
Adding to the wholesomeness of Ryan’s good character and business decisions is his candy brand, Joyride. It has been very popular and is distributed across the country in Target, Kroger, and numerous other retailers. Not only is Ryan Trahan’s YouTube channel great for everyone to watch together, but his candy brand appeals to both parents and kids alike – less sugar, but still candy.

A Big Risk and Bigger Reward for Marketing Strategy – If Done Correctly
The original goal for the 50 days was to raise $1 million, but thanks to the support of brands, companies, and individuals, they ultimately raised over $11 million by the end of the 50 days. The donations came in at an impressive speed, becoming somewhat of a friendly competition among YouTubers. Mr. Beast was one of the first big donors, who donated $50,000, followed shortly thereafter by friend and fellow YouTuber Mark Rober, who donated $50,001. The full leaderboard of donors can be seen here.
Letric eBikes showed up at one of their Airbnbs with an e-bike and a commitment to donate $10,000 for each day that Ryan rides the bike in a different state.
This entire 50 States in 50 Days series is a refreshing example of how partnerships with influencers can make a huge difference in any marketing campaign, and choosing the right one should be a careful decision that any brand should weigh heavily to achieve a high return on investment. For example, the company Letric eBikes showed up at one of their Airbnbs with an e-bike and a commitment to donate $10,000 for each day that Ryan rides the bike in a different state. This is a nearly impossible feat and deserves to be studied, considering brands will pay upwards of $8 million for a 30-second ad during the Super Bowl.

Final Thoughts
This channel offers brand-safe, family-friendly content with strong audience engagement and significant growth potential, making it suitable for marketers targeting a broad and diverse demographic, particularly young teens who depend on their parents’ discretionary spending.
The 50 States in 50 Days event has been a great proof of concept for the priorities of consumers today. It seems that content focusing on realistically unattainable luxury is no longer as important as it once was. Instead of scripted content, Ryan and Haley embrace the simple with regular life imperfections. Ryan Trahan inspires kids all over the world to do the right thing, to not be afraid to be silly, and to know that whatever life throws your way, there is a way to solve it.
The most important lesson from this series? Teach your Gen-Z and Gen-Alpha kids to read one of those old-school paper maps.

A Light Month For Executive Orders in June 2025

Following a busy month for executive orders signed in May, June was relatively quiet with orders that didn’t gain much traction across the media landscape. The TikTok ban made its way back into the spotlight, with another extension of the ban signed through September 2025. Syria is back in the United States’ good graces, with sanctions lifted but limitations still in place. Some executive orders were not on the radar but will certainly cost taxpayers a lot of money, but if successful, could be an innovation to air and space travel that hasn’t been seen before. Other international relations with the United Kingdom and Japan were finalized, both of which had some impact on the partnerships across the world.
Here are the executive orders signed by President Trump during June 2025. Much of the text is directly from the collection of Executive Orders on the White House website.
Providing for the Revocation of Syria Sanctions – June 30, 2025
TERMINATING SANCTIONS ON SYRIA: Today, President Donald J. Trump signed a historic Executive Order terminating the Syria sanctions program to support the country’s path to stability and peace.
A related Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Provides for the Revocation of Syria Sanctions is also published on the White House website.
“I hereby waive the following sanctions imposed on Syria for the prior use of chemical weapons under the former regime of Bashar al-Assad:
- The restriction on foreign assistance;
- the restriction on United States Government credit, credit guarantees, or other financial assistance
- the limits on the export of national security-sensitive goods and on all other goods and technology
- the restriction on United States banks from making any loan or providing any credit to the Government of Syria”
Further Extending the TikTok Enforcement Delay – June 19, 2025
Who really knows why we have this in the first place, considering the numerous security concerns that have come from inside the house? This ban has been on and off a few times since 2020, starting with Trump’s executive order noting the national security risk that the app poses, as data sharing with the Chinese government could be troubling if true.
In August of 2020, the first round of the TikTok ban was signed by Trump, then abandoned, then banned for a few days leading up to the inauguration of his second term on January 20. Within 24 hours, Trump extended the pause on the ban for 75 days, and renewed it again for another 75 days on April 4, 2025. This executive order provides a new 90-day extension that lasts until September 2025. However, with Trump announcing on June 29th that “a group of wealthy people” is ready to move forward, the ban may never have to take effect.
Implementing the General Terms of the United States of America-United Kingdom Economic Prosperity Deal – June 16, 2025
Looks like we have some good news out of the United Kingdom – a deal that seems to benefit both the United Kingdom and the United States in the quest for advanced aerospace and aircraft manufacturing. The executive order also addresses the topic of lower drug prices, steel and aluminum, and tariffs.
“The United States and the United Kingdom committed to negotiate significantly preferential treatment outcomes on pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical ingredients that are products of the United Kingdom.”
“The United States and the United Kingdom further committed to strengthening aerospace and aircraft manufacturing supply, creating an annual quota of 100,000 vehicles for United Kingdom automotive imports at a 10 percent tariff rate. The United Kingdom also committed to working to meet American requirements on the security of the supply chains of steel and aluminum products intended for export to the United States and on the nature of ownership of relevant production facilities.
Regarding the Proposed Acquisition of the United States Steel Corporation by Nippon Steel Corporation – June 13, 2025
The Proposed Transaction was announced via press release on June 18th, 2025 with some notable commitments that Nippon Steel promised to the United States entity of the merger, U.S. Steel.
“Nippon Steel Corporation and U. S. Steel Finalize Historic Partnership
- Investment – Nippon Steel will make approximately $11 billion in new investments in U. S. Steel by 2028
- U.S. Headquarters – U. S. Steel will remain a U.S.-incorporated entity and will maintain its headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania;
- U.S. Production – U. S. Steel will maintain capacity to produce and supply steel from its U.S. production locations to meet market demand in the U.S.
With this partnership, the Nippon Steel Group’s annual crude steel production capacity is expected to reach 86 million tons, bringing it closer to Nippon Steel’s global strategic goal of 100 million tons of global crude steel production capacity.“
Empowering Commonsense Wildfire Prevention and Response – June 12, 2025
Although Wildfire Prevention is the subject of this executive order, some of the sections seem to give room for interpretation in other parts of the government. Consolidating departments, auditing for efficiency, and removing the red tape of federal regulations so that wildfire response can be even stronger.
“Sec. 3. Encouraging Local Wildfire Preparedness and Response
(i) expand and strengthen the use of partnerships, agreements, compacts, and mutual aid capabilities that empower Federal, State, local, tribal, and community-driven land management that reduces wildfire risk and improves wildfire response, including on public lands;
Sec. 4. Strengthening Wildfire Mitigation.
(a) The Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency shall consider modifying or rescinding, as consistent with applicable law, Federal rules or policies that impede the use of appropriate, preventative prescribed fires.“Leading The World in Supersonic Flight – June 6, 2025
On the topic of aviation, more regulations were loosened to allow supersonic planes to fly over land is no longer valid.
“Sec. 2. Regulatory Reform for Supersonic Flight. (a) The Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) shall take the necessary steps to repeal the prohibition on overland supersonic flight. The executive order tasks the FAA with identifying RDT&E needs for regulatory development, commercial viability, and operational integration of supersonic aircraft into the National Airspace System.“
Restoring American Airspace Sovereignty – June 6, 2025
More in the world of aviation –Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) (Drones) are at the center of the executive order, emphasizing the FIFA World Cup and the 2028 Summer Olympics. As a result, the Federal Task Force to Restore American Airspace Sovereignty has been established.
“Sec. 4. Task Force to Restore American Airspace Sovereignty. To ensure control over our national airspace, the Federal Task Force to Restore American Airspace Sovereignty (Task Force) is hereby established. The Task Force shall review relevant operational, technical, and regulatory frameworks and develop and propose solutions to UAS threats.“
Unleashing American Drone Dominance – June 6, 2025
“Unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), otherwise known as drones, enhance United States productivity, create high-skilled jobs, and are reshaping the future of aviation. Drones are already transforming industries from logistics and infrastructure inspection to precision agriculture, emergency response, and public safety. Emerging technologies such as electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft promise to modernize methods for cargo delivery, passenger transport, and other advanced air mobility capabilities.
The United States must accelerate the safe commercialization of drone technologies and fully integrate UAS into the National Airspace System. The time has come to accelerate testing and to enable routine drone operations, scale up domestic production, and expand the export of trusted, American-manufactured drone technologies to global markets. Building a strong and secure domestic drone sector is vital to reducing reliance on foreign sources, strengthening critical supply chains, and ensuring that the benefits of this technology are delivered to the American people.“
Sustaining Select Efforts to Strengthen the Nation’s Cybersecurity and Amending Executive Order 13694 and Executive Order 14144 – June 6, 2025
“Section 1. Policy. Foreign nations and criminals continue to conduct cyber campaigns targeting the United States and Americans. The People’s Republic of China presents the most active and persistent cyber threat to the United States Government, the private sector, and critical infrastructure networks. Significant threats also emanate from Russia, Iran, North Korea, and others who undermine the United States’ cybersecurity. These campaigns disrupt the delivery of critical services nationwide, cost billions of dollars, and undermine Americans’ security and privacy. More must be done to improve the Nation’s cybersecurity against these threats.”
June Executive Orders Were Few, but the Rest of the Actions in June Were Historic
Since the main focus for June was the “Big Beautiful Bill”, it was a relatively light month in terms of the number of executive orders signed. Check out May’s list of executive orders here.

The List of Executive Orders signed by President Trump in May

Another round of Executive Orders was signed in May 2025, opening the door to fewer regulations in key fields of innovation, religion, nuclear reactors, tariffs, prescription drugs, restoring the self-sufficiency of homeless veterans, defunding biased media, and improving scientific research. May was a light month for new executive orders with less impact on the American people so far, but the implications, good and bad, will likely be felt months, possibly years, from the date of the order.
Other executive orders had more immediate impact, including the modification of tariffs that lower the financial burden for business owners in the US. The following are the executive orders signed throughout May, and are published on the Executive Orders section of whitehouse.gov. The descriptions were taken from the actual orders and have been summarized based on the most relevant information in the order.
For the most accurate information, click on the image, the link under the image, or this link to the Executive Orders signed so far. These are excerpts from the bills that I believe explain their purpose; however, as always, I recommend reading the full orders to gain a comprehensive understanding.

FIGHTING OVERCRIMINALIZATION IN FEDERAL REGULATIONS
The United States is drastically overregulated. The Code of Federal Regulations contains over 48,000 sections, stretching over 175,000 pages — far more than any citizen can possibly read, let alone fully understand. Worse, many carry potential criminal penalties for violations….Many of these regulatory crimes are “strict liability” offenses, meaning that citizens need not have a guilty mental state to be convicted of a crime.
The purpose of this order is to ease the regulatory burden on everyday Americans and ensure no American is transformed into a criminal for violating a regulation they have no reason to know exists.
(b) Prosecution of criminal regulatory offenses is most appropriate for persons who know or can be presumed to know what is prohibited or required by the regulation and willingly choose not to comply, thereby causing or risking substantial public harm. Prosecutions of criminal regulatory offenses should focus on matters where a putative defendant is alleged to have known his conduct was unlawful.

Establishing Most-Favored-Nation Pricing. (a) Within 30 days of the date of this order, the Secretary shall, in coordination with the Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy, the Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and other relevant executive department and agency (agency) officials, communicate most-favored-nation price targets to pharmaceutical manufacturers to bring prices for American patients in line with comparably developed nations.

REINVIGORATING THE NUCLEAR INDUSTRIAL BASE
Section 1. Purpose. The United States originally pioneered nuclear energy technology during a time of great peril. We now face a new set of challenges, including a global race to dominate in artificial intelligence, a growing need for energy independence, and access to uninterruptible power supplies for national security.
It took nearly 40 years for the United States to add the same amount of nuclear capacity as another developed nation added in 10 years. Further, as American deployment of advanced reactor designs has waned, 87 percent of nuclear reactors installed worldwide since 2017 are based on designs from two foreign countries. At the same time, the Nation’s nuclear fuel cycle infrastructure has severely atrophied, leaving the United States heavily dependent on foreign sources of uranium as well as uranium enrichment and conversion services. These trends cannot continue.
Swift and decisive action is required to jumpstart America’s nuclear energy industrial base and ensure our national and economic security by increasing fuel availability and production, securing civil nuclear supply chains, improving the efficiency with which advanced nuclear reactors are licensed, and preparing our workforce to establish America’s energy dominance and accelerate our path towards a more secure and independent energy future.

REFORMING NUCLEAR REACTOR TESTING AT THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY
Decades of research and engineering have produced prototypes of advanced nuclear technologies that incorporate passive safety mechanisms, improve the physical architecture of reactor designs, increase reactor operational flexibility and performance, and reduce risk in fuel disposal. Advanced reactors — including microreactors, small modular reactors, and Generation IV and Generation III+ reactors — have revolutionary potential. They will open a range of new applications to support data centers, microchip manufacturing, petrochemical production, healthcare, desalination, hydrogen production, and other industries.
The United States cultivated the effort to design and build the first Generation IV reactor for commercial use, but the Federal Government has effectively throttled the domestic deployment of advanced reactors, ceding the initiative to foreign nations in building this critical technology. That changes today. It is the policy of my Administration to foster nuclear innovation and bring advanced nuclear technologies into domestic production as soon as possible.
Read the full order here.
DEPLOYING ADVANCED NUCLEAR REACTOR TECHNOLOGIES FOR NATIONAL SECURITY
The Federal Government must utilize its full authority to accelerate the secure and responsible development, demonstration, deployment, and export of United States-designed advanced nuclear technologies to bolster readiness and enhance American technological superiority. Additionally, the United States must further enhance our ability to export our nuclear technology to our allies and commercial partners, strengthening our shared ability to combat reliance on foreign adversaries through the use of safe, secure, and safeguarded nuclear technologies. Therefore, we must unleash the domestic nuclear industrial base and position American nuclear companies as the partners of choice for future energy growth throughout the world.

The $7.25/Hr. Minimum Wage Has Not Changed Since 2009

The federal government determines the federal minimum wage rate. Some states adhere to the federal guidelines, while others set their own minimum wage rates. Because of this, it can be challenging for businesses with employees across multiple states to stay on top of all the minimum wage changes, especially for higher-cost-of-living states like California or New York.
Minimum Wage Guidelines
The federal minimum wage is currently $7.25 an hour. This rate has been in place since July 24, 2009, when it was increased from $6.55 an hour. The federal rate serves as the absolute lowest minimum wage allowed nationwide. Still, each state can set its minimum wage for workers, and sometimes, minimum wages per county within a state. State minimum wage rates are typically governed by the state legislature, which needs a majority to approve the measures. Click on the image to get to the sources by state, which may update if new legislation is passed.

United States Department of Labor Many red states, including Texas, Georgia, West Virginia, Indiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Kansas, Utah, have yet to legally change the statewide minimum wage to one that is higher than the federal one.
Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia, and Washington raised their minimum wage on Jan. 1, 2025.
The $25 Minimum Wage was the rumor, but Trump Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says “no” to raising $7.25 minimum wage.
The federal minimum wage is officially a poverty wage in 2025.

Economic Policy Institute
Economic Policy Institute and Department of Health and Human Services The inflation-adjusted wages showed that $1.60 an hour in 1968 equals $14.01 an hour in 2024 dollars.
The chart below shows the inflation-adjusted and non-adjusted values of the federal minimum wage from 1938 to 2024. The minimum wage’s real value has declined significantly, which is a strong indicator that $7.25/hour is not a livable wage. Meanwhile, members of Congress make $174,000 per year.

Data: Bureau of Labor Statistics via FRED; Chart: Axios Visuals Final Thoughts
Over half of the country lives paycheck to paycheck, and a full-time, $7.25/hour minimum wage job is no longer livable. Ideally, states would take the lead in making life easier for their constituents by raising the minimum wage on their own, but in many cases, legislation has failed to pass to raise the minimum wage at the state level. The subject doesn’t gain enough traction with the public on a federal level, so minimum wage is rarely discussed as a priority of an administration taking office.
Theoretically, if the minimum wage is increased, all wages will increase to stay competitive. This will allow for a more productive and “family-focused” society, giving parents time to raise their kids instead of working two or three jobs. I look forward to celebrating the first president who can enact a federal minimum wage increase to make lives better for Americans.
